Who is this course for?

For pregnant women and their partners. Due to the individualized nature of the sessions, we suggest commencing the course between the 21st and 35th week of gestation.

  • Assembling a layette for the newborn.
  • Drafting a birth plan, with a template provided for personal customization.
  • Pharmacological and non-pharmacological pain management strategies during labor.
  • Perineal massage techniques.
  • Protocols for both emergency and elective cesarean sections.
  • The postpartum period (puerperium) and potential postnatal experiences, preparing both the mother and partner.
  • Proper handling of the neonate and interpreting various causes of infant crying.
  • Effective breastfeeding positions and indicators of adequate infant nutrition.
  • Utilization of lactation accessories and selecting an appropriate breast pump.
  • Managing breast engorgement and methods to stimulate lactation.
  • Routine newborn care, including diapering, dressing, nail trimming, and administering eye and nasal drops.
  • Identifying and addressing common neonatal conditions such as cradle cap, rashes, diaper dermatitis, and post-vaccination reactions.
  • Bathing techniques and suitable bathing products for the newborn.
  • Timing for the first outdoor excursion and correctly securing the infant in a car seat.

How to prepare for the course?

  • No specific preparations are required prior to attending.
  • Wear comfortable clothes, as most sessions include practical exercises.
  • Bring a change of footwear suitable for indoor use.
  • The course fee covers participation for two individuals: the pregnant mother and a companion (a housband, partner, friend etc.)
  • Two days before the course begins, you will receive an email with all pertinent information and some preparatory materials.
  • The course takes 8 hours, typically divided into two 4-hour sessions, though scheduling can be adjusted to your preferences.
  • The course is conducted in english language.
